GIAMBATTISTA VALLI COUTURE FALL 2014

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI COUTURE FALL 2014

LOOKING BACK: July 07, 2014 Paris

To me, the most inspiring Fall-Winter 2014 couture collection was the one by Giambatista Valli.

Sensational colours. Feather covered floor length, voluminous dresses in gradually fading bright colours.
The feminine gowns reflect grace and femininity and a few masculine elements. One could imagine the Valli woman posing poolside in her striped daytime dresses, crisp white tops and a scarf–almost like a towel–wrapped around her head in full Old Hollywood glamour. The beautiful collection had airs of a glamorous beach club in the era of 1950s Hollywood, with its monochromatic stripes, sunny colors and dresses blossoming with spring flowers – perhaps inspired from a trip the designer took to the gardens of  Alhambra.
